KHAIRPUR, June 17: Two children — four-year-old Shaman and three-year-old Saran Shar — died of diarrhea in the Dib Thar village, Nara taluka, on Monday night.

More than 50 children under five years of age of Dib Thar, Raiti, Kalaho, Bachal Bhambhro, Burdi and other villages, suffering from diarrhea, were hospitalized on Tuesday as the disease spread in the area due to the use of contaminated water and scorching heat.

Meanwhile, teacher Noor Mohammad Memon, 38, a resident of Abro Colony, Tharushah, Kandiaro taluka, died of gastroenteritis on Monday evening.

Five relatives of the deceased, Kulsoom, Roohi Bano, Nasrullah, Zahida, and Farida, have also been hospitalized.

According to the Tharushah hospital administration, more than 180 patients of gastroenteritis have been treated during the last three days at the hospital.

ACCIDENT: Seven-year-old Noor Khatoon died after she was run over by a Sukkur-bound speedy bus (ASO 7781) in Wada Machiyoon on Tuesday.
