Man kills wife over Karo-kari

SUKKUR, June 16: A man, Mando Jakhrani, shot his wife dead and injured another person on the pretext of Karo-kari in Bakhshapur on Monday.

The injured, Jhanno Domki, was taken to a hospital in Kashmor in a critical condition.

PRISON CLASH: Nine prisoners were injured in the Sukkur Central Jail on Sunday night in a clash between three groups of prisoners over a minor dispute.

Those who clashed belonged to Jatoi, Khoso and Chandio tribes. Bricks, iron rods and sticks were used in the clash.

The situation was brought under control after one and a half hour. The fighting groups were sent to different wards.

Four prisoners — Umer Khoso, Bangoo Jatoi, Badal Jatoi and Ali Bux Jatoi—, who were critically injured, were shifted to the Sukkur Civil Hospital.

The deputy superintendent of the jail, Karam Ali, registered an FIR against 25 prisoners at the Rohri police station.

ARRESTED: The Sukkur police have arrested three persons for kidnapping a trader.

Those booked were identified as Ghaffar Awan, Saeed Awan and Khaloo Mako.

The police recovered the trader, Taqseem Ahmad, from a car showroom and arrested its owner, Gaffar Awan. On information of Awan, the police arrested the other two accused.

KILLED: A woman, Shalan, 45, was killed and her two sons were injured in an accident on the National Highway, near Daharki, on Sunday.

A motorcylist, Waseem, was headed towards home from Bago Bhutto with his mother, Shalan, 45, and brother, Idrees, when an oil tanker rammed into their motorcycle killing Shalan on the spot and injuring both Waseem and Idrees.The oil tanker driver was arrested.
