HYDERABAD, June 16: Three oil-containing bogies of a Punjab bound goods train were derailed at Kotri railway station on Monday.

No casualty was reported. Arrival and departure of several passengers and goods trains were delayed for hours as the railway officials were clearing track through pressure jack.

Crane of the railway station was dispatched to Karachi for some work, it was learnt.

Three bogies of the goods train (TCFE-473) derailed as its driver tried to suddenly change track on the crossing.

The track on the spot were damaged. There were reports that wooden sleepers had outlived their life as a result the railway track became had become weak.

Meanwhile, the deputy superintendent, railways, Karachi, Israr Ali, constituted a four-member team, headed by assistant transport officer Malik Abdul Raheem, to investigate the cause of the derailing.

Preliminary findings of the investigation were sent to Karachi, holding train driver responsible for the incident. He was blamed for exceeding the 10km speed of the train.
