QUETTA, June 15: Special Police Task Force has launched a massive operation in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan against elements involved in terrorist and criminal activities, and to ensure maintenance of law and order in the province, official sources said.

In view of the increasing terrorist and criminal activities in the province, the government has launched a new special Police Task Force to deal with such crimes, which has started working with immediate effect.

The sources said the Police Task Force would comprise senior and qualified police officials with an SSP heading it. The IG Police, Balochistan, would supervise its performance.

“The new force would submit its report to the chief minister after every two days about its achievement against terrorist and criminal activities,” the sources said, and added that the force would be equipped with latest weapons and equipment.

Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf has ordered launching of a massive operation in Quetta and other areas of the province against criminals without delay, the sources said.

“All resources should be utilized for eliminating terrorists and outlaws from the province,” the CM directed the officials concerned.
