HYDERABAD, March 16: The consul general of the Republic of Indonesia, Entjim Herrianto, has stressed the need for increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.

He was addressing the members of the business community at the secretariat of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday. He said in the fiscal year 2003 Pakistan had exported goods valued at 73.4 million dollars and in 2003-04 goods valued at 44.2 million dollars. He said the goods included petroleum manufactures, cotton, yarn and cloth. He said the imports from Indonesia during this period amounted to 258 million dollars and 355 million dollars, respectively.

He said the imported goods included betel-nut, chemicals, tea, paper, paperboard and viscose fibre.

Mr Herrianto said the bilateral trade was not enough and stressed the need for further improvement in it.
