ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The management of Tarbela on Wednesday raised water release to 68,000 cusecs daily from 60,000 cusecs to meet the need of wheat and sugar-cane crops in Punjab and Sindh.
Water level at Tarbela was recorded at 1455.24 feet and outflow remained 68,000 cusecs against the inflow of 20,000 cusecs.
According to official data, a remarkable decrease of inflow was recorded in Indus River after the beginning of snowfall in Northern Areas.
The management raised water release from the lake under the decision of the Indus River System Authority (Irsa).—APP
