Kasuri visits Qazi

LAHORE, June 11: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri on Wednesday visited Jamaat-i-Islami amir Qazi Husain Ahmad, who is suffering from a heart problem and is under treatment in a private hospital here for over a week.

Mr Kasuri remained with the ailing Jamaat chief for around an hour. During the meeting, both the leaders agreed that the solution to the Kashmir issue against the wishes of Kashmiris would not be long-lasting.

The Qazi said the Jamaat was not against talks with India. However, it was of the opinion that both the parties should accept existence of the dispute before holding talks on it.

He said the government should not deviate from its principled stand on Kashmir.
