ATTOCK, Dec 4: The father of a girl has been searching for his daughter for the past six years, and has now approached the district police officer (DPO) to trace his missing daughter.

Talking to Dawn at the district police headquarters, the old man, a resident of Sheenbagh village, said his then three-year-old daughter had gone missing from the house on July 20, 2007.

He alleged that she was kidnapped by four village fellows and he had been searching for her since.

He added that he had lodged several complaints and requests at various government functionaries but to no avail.

He even lodged a complaint with the then Inspector General Police Punjab Haji Habibur Rehman during the latter’s open meeting in the district in March 2012, he maintained.

However, no one paid attention to his plight.

The police were initially reluctant to register the kidnapping case.

However, after the father and his family staged a protest at Fawara Chowk Attock last year, the police finally registered the case but did nothing for the recovery of the missing girl, he said.

He has now approached DPO Israr Khan seeking help in the case, and the DPO has directed Station House Officer Attock Saddar police to ensure the case is resolved on a priority basis.
