COLOMBO, June 9: Match-winning all-rounder Upul Chandana has been left out of Sri Lanka’s Test side for their two-match series against West Indies.

Chandana, who scored 89 to guide Sri Lanka to an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the one-day series against West Indies at Bridgetown on Sunday, returns home with middle order batsman Naveed Nawaz.

Test captain Hashan Tillekeratne, all-rounder Thilan Samaraweera and uncapped fast bowler Thilan Thushara Mirando have been added to the 16-man squad.

Samaraweera returns to the Test squad having recovered from a hand injury that ruled him out of the drawn home series against New Zealand.

Fast bowler Dilhara Fernando was not considered because of a lower back injury he sustained in April.

The players called into the Test squad will arrive in the West Indies in time for Sri Lanka’s three-day match in St Vincent on Saturday.

The first Test will be played in St Lucia from June 20 and the second in Jamaica on June 27.
