HYDERABAD, June 9: The PCO owners took out a procession from Hyder Chowk to the Hyderabad Press Club here on Sunday to protest against the proliferation of PCOs run by different telephone companies under the garb of customer service centres.

Speaking on the occasion, a leader of the Hyderabad PCO Holders Association, Yousuf Zaidi, said that their protest was not against the customer service centre established in the PTCL exchanges but against different companies who had established public call offices in the name of customer services in every nook and corner of the city.

He threatened that if the practice was not discontinued, they would resort to boycott of the telephone companies.

He demanded that either the call rate for their PCOs and those run by telephone companies should be brought at par.
