QUETTA: At least 10 peeople including two children were killed and 31 injured in bomb explosions and incidents of targeted killings in Quetta and other troubled parts of Balochistan, Pakistan's volatile province on Thursday, police said.

Arif Nawaz, the Regional Police Officer Police Quetta told Dawn.com five people including two children were killed and 22 injured in a blast near Bareech Market area of Quetta. He said the militants had planted explosive materials in cycle parked on the roadside.

"There was a huge blast when the vehicle of frontier corps passed through the area", Nawaz said.

The powerful blast damaged nearby private bank and shops located in the area. Three FC personnel including 22 people sustained injuries and were shifted to civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment.

"I was crossing the road when the bomb went off", an eye witness Shah Wali told Dawn.com. Emergency was imposed in civil hospital after the blast and senior doctors were called to treat the injured.

"All dead were civilians", Nawaz said.

He said that seven to eight kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.

"There was destruction everywhere after the blast", Wali said.

In another incident, armed militants killed two persons in Balochistan's Turbat town. Police said two militants on a motorcycle opened fire at people near Turbat airport and killed them on the spot. They sped away on their motorcycle after the incident.

Three people including a levies man were killed in two different incidents of targeted killings. A levies official who requested not to be named said police found two bullet-riddled dead bodies near Khuzdar city.

He said both victims were abducted from Naal area of Khuzdar on November 18. Similarly militants opened a fire at a levies personnel in Khuzdar bazaar. The levies man sustained serious wounds and succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

Five people were injured in a bomb explosion near a Church in Chaman, Pakistan's bordering town with Afghanistan.

Muhammad Saeed, a police official said the militants had planted explosive materials in bicycle which went off with big bang injuring five persons. There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.

In Balochistan's resource-rich Dera Bugti district, four women were injured in a landmine explosion. Levies said the women were walking on road in Sham area of Dera Bugti when they hit a landmine.

All women were shifted to Sui for medical treatment. Militants have intensified their activities during last two days in Quetta and other troubled parts of Balochitsan.

Two people were killed and six injured in three coordinated blasts in Quetta on Wednesday night.
