BADIN, Nov 11: The frustrated candidates for local bodies elections who had been waiting for hours at the offices of returning officers for the past two days without much luck to get the nomination forms made a rush to the ROs offices in Sindh towns the moment they heard about the forms’ arrival and bought the document like hot cakes.

In Badin, scores of former councillors, representatives of NGOs and office-bearers of several political parties bought the forms.

The election office had a total of 30,000 nomination forms which it received on Monday evening and sent to ROs concerned, said officials.

Meanwhile, enraged candidates staged a demonstration outside the Tando Bago press club on Monday in protest against the administration’s failure to provide them forms and absence of ROs and assistant ROs despite end of allotted days for issuing forms.

KHAIRPUR: The candidates in Khairpur finally received the nomination forms from the offices of assistant commissioner, additional deputy commissioner and mukhtiarkar.

Similarly, candidates from all other talukas of the district obtained forms from the offices of AROs concerned of their talukas.
