Imran directs CM Khattak to act against corrupt ministers

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday said it had come to his attention that some ministers in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet were indulging in corruption.

In a statement issued from the PTI’s Karachi Media Cell, Khan demanded of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to immediately investigate and take action against these ministers.

Khan reminded that PTI was given an electoral mandate on two main commitments: One, to bring peace to the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the second to stamp out corruption.

The PTI chief stated that there could be absolutely no compromise on these two commitments.

He pointed out that already, the government had lost eight billion rupees in just one corruption case involving Swiss accounts and now would lose another four billion rupees in fines as a result of expedient compromises on the same case.

All this money could have gone towards investment in education and other development projects, Khan said.

He was adamant that the PTI would not tolerate corruption at any level but would act immediately to punish those responsible.

Only instructions are not enough. Meaningful steps will tell the story by itself. Long awaited accountability bill needs to be passed from the KPK assembly at the earliest.

Kudos to you Mr. Khan. Concentrate on things that matter to the people of Pakistan and not waste you energies on kowtowing to the the right wing. Corruption, power generation and by the way education for all including girls. So go ahead and support the cause of brave patriots of Pakistan like our daughter from Swat and make it clear to the traitrors so that they do not have any doubts about the resolve of the government of KP vis a vis these policies.

OH! There are still corrupt ministers in KPK??? I was under the assumption that Mr. Khan had already eliminated corruption in the first 90 days of his Govt. That's what he had promised in his pre-election speeches, that he will root out corruption within 90 days of coming into power. Someone wise said, everyone can talk the talk but very few can walk the walk.
