ISLAMABAD, Oct 11: The temperature dropped significantly after heavy rain, followed by hailstorm, lashed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The rain started at about 1:30pm and continued till 5pm. Islamabad received 4mm of rain, Rawalpindi 4mm, Murree 4mm, Muzaffarabad 9mm, Astore (AJK) 25mm, Abbotabad 2mm, Dir 2mm and Baltistan 4mm.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), scattered rain was also reported from other cities of the country.

The meteorological department said that the weather was likely to become pleasant, and some moderate rain was expected to occur in southern Azad Kashmir, Hazara and Rawalpindi Division within the next 24 hours.

The Met office said isolated rain was also expected in lower Sindh.

The temperature recorded in Islamabad on Thursday was 31 degrees, Lahore 35 degrees, Muzaffarabad 24 degrees, Gilgit 25 and Murree 18.
