SIALKOT, June 6: The Uggoki police on Friday arrested the alleged killer of four members of his family.

Sialkot DPO Amjad Javed Saleemi said at a press conference that police took Safyan into custody on suspicion. He confessed during interrogation to have killed his father Sabir, 55, mother Surayya, 48, brother Salman, 24, and sister Nausheen, 26, and told police a concocted story that they were murdered by robbers.

Safyan was brought before newsmen. He told them that his family did not respect him because his income was meagre. This unending disgrace infuriated him and he planned to kill them, he added.

He said he bought Catamin injection from Idrees Hospital and forcibly administered it to his family members after which they fell unconscious. Then he slit their throats open with a knife.

There are just two lady doctors to treat patients in Narowal, a survey conducted by Dawn revealed on Friday.

There are several posts for the lady doctors have been lying vacant here for the past few months.

Women patients have been facing problems due to the shortage of female doctors.
