KARACHI, June 4: Two-day trials to select the 20-member Pakistan junior hockey squad for the European tour will be held at the Pakistan Steel Township Astroturf from June 27.

Forty-four shortlisted boys will be appearing in the trials. Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Chief Lt.Gen. Muhammad Aziz Khan will be specailly flying to Karachi to watch the trials.

Pakistan junior camp for tour of Spain and Poland where the team will feature in the two international events, will commence at Steel Township from June 10. Boys are advised to report on June 9.

With the inclusion of four more boys, 61 will be attending the first phase of training camp which will be conducted former international Asif Bajwa.

On the basis of performance boys will be shortlisted to 44 on June 17.

Pakistan will first tour Spain where they will take part in a four-nation event being staged at Alacala la Real from July 24 to 28 and have fortnight training camp in Netherlands/Belgium before moving on to Poznan (Poland) for the eight-nation contest held there from Aug 18 to 24.—APP
