LAHORE: The third PFDC L'Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2013 opened in the city at the landmark Faletti’s Hotel (since 1880) featuring the country’s leading bridal wear designers, couturiers and hair and make-up artists for the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 trends show on Day 1.

Lahore’s king of couture HSY opened the three-day bridal week by putting on the ramp highlighted by golden arches a collection that was blindingly spectacular both in terms of design element and embellished grandeur, presenting it first in red tones with his muse former model Vaneeza Ahmed and then onto his gold theme collection with muse Mehreen Syed to the tune of Junaid Khan’s Sub Bhula Kay. Finally, he graduated to a dark shade of blue and his muse for the segment was actress Reema Khan who introduced the somewhat unique tone to bridals. The menswear here featured Jaipur paisleys and prints bearing the HSY insignia.

At this point the Libas style awards were announced for later in the evening and a trousseau collection by Deena Rehman followed which featured tissue fabric, gold on gold saris, a central theme of jaal-work motifs, beehive patterns on sari pallus, angarkha-cut shirts, shaded, two-tone saris, Mughal art-inspired animal motifs and a varied colour palette.

After an extended 45-minute break, the hair and trends show gave way to more collections by both emerging and established names in bridal fashions such as Exist which has outlets throughout Punjab, Elan and women’s wear designer Sania Maskatiya. Designers Nickie Nina, Sadaf Maleterre, Fahad Hussayn, Misha Lakhani, Sonia Azhar, and Ali Xeeshan will feature on Day 2 while Day 3 will host Zara Shahjehan, Saai by Sahar Atif, Nomi Ansari, Asifa & Nabeel, Sana Safinaz and The House of Kamiar Rokni.

The hair and make-up is by Maram & Aabroo and Toni&Guy with the styling of the male models by stylist Khawar Riaz on all days. The show production and choreography of PFDC Loreal Paris Bridal Week is by HSY Events, Sara Shahid of the label Sublime by Sara is the official spokesperson, front stage management is by Maheen Kardar Ali, backstage management by Maria Baig, logistics and operations by Bedazzled, digital support by B-Solutions, Hum TV/Style 360 as the media partners, CityFM89 as the radio partner and PR by Lotus.
