PESHAWAR, May 31: The cardiothoracic unit of the Lady Reading Hospital in collaboration with College of Family Medicine organized a lecture on management of thoracic patients.

The lecture was aimed at educating general practitioners and teachers on the pitfalls of thoracic referral.

Prominent medical practitioner and social worker Dr Saeedul Majeed, renowned oncologist Dr Sher Mohammad Khan and President of College of Family Medicine Dr Ghulam Mohiyuddin jointly presided over the lecture.

The lecture was attended by a large number of GPs, members of the teaching staff, and trainee medical officers.

Aamir Bilal, associate professor and in-charge of cardiothoracic unit, LRH, presented his annual audit comprising 525 elective surgeries with a 30-day mortality of 3.4 per cent, over 600 emergencies received and nearly 5,000 patients seen as outpatients.
