LAHORE, Sept 3: Capital City Police Officer Chaudhry Shafique Ahmed has awarded punishment to 31 policemen.

The punishments include dismissal form service, compulsory retirement, reduction in pay, forfeiture of service and censure on charges of dereliction from duty, misuse of authority, poor performance, negligence, corruption and misconduct.

He issued the orders while hearing appeals of 125 policemen from the rank of constable to inspector in orderly room on Tuesday.

According to a handout, the CCPO dismissed ASI Munawar Iqbal and constables Sultan Hashmi and Akbar Ali on charges of misuse of authority, dereliction of duty and willful absence from duty.

He ordered retired SI Amant Ali and constable Muhammad Boota for corruption and dereliction of duty. He ordered forfeiture of two-year service and reduction in pay up to one stage of SIs Muhammad Ashraf, Mubarak Ali and Asim Rafi, ASIs Sher Muhammad and ASI Shahzad Hasan on charges of patronising criminals and misuse of authority.

He also awarded censure to senior clerk Arshad Saeed, Majid Shah Nawaz, Amjad Ali, junior clerk Muhammad Waseem, Tayyab Hasan, Ali Raza and Naib Qasid Ali Imran on various charges.

Ahmed rejected appeals of former wardens Arsalan Khalid, Hafeezullah and Qamar Abbas, and ex-constables Muhammad Imran and Fazal Masih due to unsatisfactory reply.

He also rejected appeals of SI Muhammad Sadiq and wardens Saghir Ahmed, Rashid Nadeem, Zaheer Abbas, Shahbir Khan, Anayat Akbar, Naveed Ahmed, Shahid Farooq and Adeel Ahmed.

The CCPO set aside punishments of 45 policemen from constable to inspector while he ordered 49 others to resubmit there replies.

TRANSFERRED: The Punjab government on Tuesday transferred four senior police officers.

According to a notification issued by the Services & General Administration, Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer Sheikh Naseemuz Zaman was transferred and made an officer on special duty and Rawalpindi City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana was assigned the additional charge of the post.

The government relieved Khushan DP Intisaar Husain Jaffery and SPs Syed Muhammad Ameen Bokhari and Waheedur Rehman Khattak after they were transferred to Balochistan by the Establishment Division.
