LAHORE, Sept 3: Turkey plans to install 50 water purification plants in various parts of the city as a goodwill gesture.

The authorities concerned have started work on the project, according to a briefing given to the Lahore division administration here on Tuesday.

“Since the Turkish government had agreed to install 50 plants the work related to site identification, arsenic level laboratory tests and other arrangements have almost been completed by Wasa and Aziz Bhatti and Nishtar Town administrations, who had been assigned to coordinate with the Turkish coordinator/official and report to the quarters concerned in a day or two,” Lahore Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal said while presiding over a meeting.

He said after the initial 50 plants planned, Turkey would set up more plants considering site availability. Wasa and respective TMAs would submit their reports to the commissioner within the next few days, he added. The commissioner said the officials concerned were required to get the plants operated and maintained after installation work. Speaking on the occasion, Turkish Coordinator Mr Saadi said he and his team members were ready to start the work soon. “We have visited the sites and found most of the work completed,” he added.

PROMOTION: The Departmental Promotion Committee of the Lahore Development Authority on Tuesday promoted 11 accounts clerks/junior account assistant (BS-11) to junior accountants/account assistants (BS-14).

According to a spokesman, the promoted officers included Abdul Saeed, Muhammad Anwar, Shahid Naseem, Mujahid Pervaiz Butt, Naveed Saeed, Jamshaid Ubaid, Saifullah, Naveed Yaqoob, Riaz Ali, Ikram Elahi and Muhammad Ilyas.

AUCTION: The LDA will hold an open auction of 50 commercial plots on September 24 at the LDA Community Centre, New Muslim Town. The plots were located on prime locations of Johar Town and Sabazazar Housing Schemes, according to a press release.

NOTICE: The LDA administration has issued a final notice for personal appearance to Sheraz Qamar Bukhari, a junior clerk, over his unauthorised absence from duty.

Bukhari had been proceeded against under Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act 2006. He had been directed to appear before the competent authority on Sept 12 along with a written defence, otherwise ex-parte decision would be taken against him.
