KU website hacked

Published August 31, 2013

KARACHI, Aug 30: The official website of Karachi University (KU) was hacked, but data on the website remained safe, said a KU handout issued here on Friday.

It added that a day earlier hackers tried to hack the official website of Karachi University and later it was closed down. However, the hackers could not reach the data posted on the website.

The messages displayed by the hackers indicated that they belonged to India. “The website will be restored in 24 to 36 hours,” it stated.

“The KU website is visited by about two million people every week,” the handout added.—PPI
