LAHORE, May 27: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leaders on Tuesday cut a cake to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the country as a nuclear power.

The ceremony was organized at the Lahore Press Club.

Zulfiqar Khosa, Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Zaeem Qadri, Pir Binyamin, Naseer Bhutta and many other leaders and workers attended the ceremony.

They said nuclear capability had strengthened the national defence and credit for enabling the country to achieve it went to Mian Nawaz Sharif.

Nuclear tests were carried out on May 28, 1998.

Supporters of Mian Shahbaz Sharif organized another ceremony near the railway station.

Zaeem: Exiled PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif has appointed Syed Zaeem Husain Qadri as his spokesman in the Punjab.

Mr Qadri is the provincial information secretary of the party.

Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s spokesman is Mr Farrukh Shah.
