OKARA, May 26: Three people injured a woman when she foiled their attempt to kidnap her on Monday.

Khalid Mahmood of Kariwala village in Pakpattan married Razia of Sahibawala village, Okara. A few days ago, he came to his in-laws and started gambling with Fateh Muhammad, etc. He put his wife at stake and lost her, too. He handed her over to the winner.

Razia escaped from the clutches of Fateh Muhammad a few days later and went to her brother Ashiq.

Fateh, along with two unidentified accomplices, went to Khalid and asked him to hand over his wife to them. Khalid took them to his brother-in-law’s house. Razia was not in the house at that time. Razia’s cousin Asia was at home and the gambler and his accomplices tried to kidnap her. Asia’s sister Kaniz raised an alarm and the neighbours came to their rescue. They injured Kaniz on failing to kidnap her sister.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
