MANSEHRA, Aug 18: Federal Minister for Haj and Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf has asked Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf to fulfill its commitment concerning Hazara province and pass a resolution in this regard from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly so that his party could proceed on the case at the centre.

“The PML-N has incorporated creation of Hazara province in its manifesto, but presently we are waiting for the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s resolution in this regard. Once the PTI passes the resolution from the assembly the PML-N will take steps for creation of Hazara province at the federal level,” said Mr Yousuf while speaking to media persons here on Sunday.

He said that the PML-N had also asked its lawmakers to support Hazara resolution in the KP Assembly. He said that PTI chief Imran Khan should fulfill his election commitment concerning the Hazara province. However, Mr Yousuf said that the PML-N would touch upon issues such as Hazara province after resolving the other major challenges facing the country.

In response to a question, Mr Yousuf claimed that he and his government would provide the best services to pilgrims during Haj this year and that time would prove it.

The federal minister said that he had already visited Saudi Arabia and met his counterpart and governor Madina, and discussed with them provision of services to pilgrims during Haj. He said that he also visited the residences where Pakistani pilgrims would stay during Haj and found everything up to the mark.

POLIO DRIVE: Security plan for polio eradication drive being started in the district from August 19 was finalised here on Sunday.

In this connection, a meeting of mobile teams of health department and police was held to discuss the security plan. Speaking on the occasion, DSP Mohammad Tariq said that every polio team would be accompanied by a policeman.

He said that the mobile team members should also remain vigilant during the campaign to avert any untoward incident.

KIDANPPED: A man kidnapped a young girl after shooting her mother dead here on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Dari Bagal area where one Mohammad Ishfaq first shot dead Sosan Jan and then kidnapped her daughter at gunpoint.

Police sources said that the family of the accused, Ishfaq, had sent a proposal for marriage of the girl with him, but the girl’s family turned down the request.

Lassain Nawab police have started search for the accused after registering FIR.
