KARACHI, Aug 13: Infighting within the Arshad Pappu gang claimed two lives in Pak Colony and Malir areas, officials said on Tuesday.
The police added that Mir Mohammed Baloch, 25, was shot dead in the Malir area and to take revenge, his brother killed a member of the same gang in Jehanabad.
Shah Latif Town SHO Ali Hassan Shaikh said some persons who appeared to be familiar with Mir Mohammed called him for a meeting in Faqir Mohammed Goth late Monday night. The police officer quoted the victim’s wife as saying that the deceased served water to them before they killed him. The SHO said relatives of the deceased were about to bury him when a police party reached there and took the body into their custody for medico-legal formalities.
The SHO said the victim’s wife knew the suspected killers but did not disclose their names to the police.
“Mir Mohammed Baloch, a resident of Jehanabad and member of the Arshad Papu gang, had been hiding in Malir as an absconder for the past three to four months,” the SHO said.
The officer said that the deceased’s two brothers too had fallen victim to the gang warfare.
Following the killing, another member of the gang, Munir Baloch, was gunned down in Jehanabad, police said.
“Munir was shot dead outside his home by a brother of Mir Baloch, Qadeer, for his alleged involvement in the Malir murder,” believed Pak Colony SHO Bilal Raza.
He said that Munir, too, was a gangster and hiding in Malir. He had come to Jehanabad to meet his relatives on Monday night when he was killed.

The victim was blindfolded and trussed-up. The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for want of identification, the police said.
