LAHORE, Aug 5: Several cricket organisers of the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award during a function held at a local hotel here on Sunday.

Aizad Hussain Sayyad, chairman of the LRCA interim committee, presided over the function. All 131 clubs of the city attended the function during which their heads were given commemorative shields and merit certificates.

Subhan Ahmed, Pakistan Cricket Board’s chief operating officer, was the chief guest at the ceremony. Former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail, national team coach Dav Whatmore, former LRCA president Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed, ex-secretary of LRCA Mian Javed Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed (LRCA ex-treasurer) were also present on the occasion.

Habib-ul-Hassan Shah, Hafeez-ur-Rehman Siddiqi, Abdur Rauf, Najam Mirza, Malik Amanat Ali and Malik Mohammad Aslam won the Lifetime Achievement awards from East Zone Cricket Association.

Ahmed Hassan, Khawaja Mohammad Zafar, Malik Sarwar Mahmood, Mohammad Younis, Taya Aslam, Javed Zaman Khan, Mian Mohammad Aslam and Rab Nawaz received the awards from North Zone Cricket Association.

Azhar Hussain Zaidi, Nawab Mansoor Hayat Khan, M. Shoaib Dar, Sardar Naushad Ahmed, Raza Hameed and Syed Tauqir Ali Shah were the award recipients from West Zone Cricket Association.

Meanwhile, Mubashir Noazar, Mohammad Jameel, Waqar-ul-Munir, Aashiq Hussain Qureshi, Azmat Butt and Akhtar Mumtaz Butt received the awards as best tournament organisers.

Following club cricket organisers, who have passed away, were also honoured and their awards were received by their relatives:

Butt, Sultan F. Hussain, Yaseen Akhtar and Z.I. Okasha.
