ISLAMABAD: A 5.5 magnitude struck Lahore, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Abbottabad, Sialkot, Azad Kasmir and adjoining areas in northern of Pakistan on Saturday, DawnNews reported.

Fear and panic gripped the people of the affected areas, who rushed out of their houses as the tremors jolted them when they woke up for Sehri.

There was no immediate report of any casualty or damages.

The earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was located near Srinagar in Indian Administered Kashmir at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to the met office.
