LAHORE, July 29: Pakistan teenager Lianna Swan on Monday smashed two national records in the ongoing FINA World Championships in Barcelona, according to information released by the Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF).

Lianna, 15, first took part in the 200 metres individual medley where she bettered her own previous national record with a timing of 02:32.61.

She then broke Merunissa Khan’s 2006 record in the women’s 100 metres breaststroke, clocking 01:19.61.

Lianna is considered a rising star of Pakistan’s swimming and is part of Pakistan’s four member contingent — which also has Syed Mazhar Hussain Naqvi, Haris Banday and Anum Banday — at the championships in which 178 countries are taking part.
