LAHORE, May 23: Two people were killed and 11 others injured in rainstorm-related incidents in different parts of the city on Friday morning.

Raheem along with other family members was asleep in his Shahdara house when the roof of a room caved in. Rahim and his son Sajid, 12, sustained injuries and were taken to hospital where Sajid died.

A labourer was killed while four others were injured when a wall of an under-construction plaza collapsed in the Lorry Adda area.

Police said the labourers were at work some time after the rainstorm when the wall caved in. They were recovered from debris by neighbours, the police and other civic agencies.

The injured were removed to the Mayo Hospital where one of them, so far unidentified, was pronounced dead. The condition of two other injured was stated to be critical.

Another six labourers sustained injuries when the roof of an under-construction house collapsed in Johar Town.

The police said the labourers were asleep when the roof caved in.
