SIALKOT: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader and former Federal Information Minister Firdouq Ashiq Awan has withdrawn her candidacy from Sialkot's NA-110 seat in favour of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Usman Darr.

Awan had submitted her candidacy papers for NA-110 at the insistence of party leaders. Awan is already contesting for the NA-111 seat.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif is also competing for the same seat.

Sources close to the competing candidates said most contestants had agreed to withdraw in a bid to defeat the PML-N leader.
