PESHAWAR, Dec 11: The NWFP minister for revenue, excise and taxation, Aminullah Khan Gandapur, has directed the district revenue officers to ensure the recovery of revenues and achieve the set targets so as to enable the government to create a balance between income and expenditures.

He issued the directive at the monthly review meeting of the officials at the committee room of the board of revenue, civil secretariat, Peshawar, the other day.

The meeting was attended by the revenue secretary and the officials of revenue and other departments concerned.

The meeting reviewed the targets set for 2001-2002 and discussed the recovery of revenues in various districts of the province.

The minister asked the officials to utilize available resources for the collection of revenues under different heads.

He also directed the officials to prepare monthly progress reports on time and prepare charts of different crops being sown in various districts.

The officials were asked to clear all accounts with Numbardars by the end of the current month so that matters of Abyana could be handed over to the irrigation department.

The meeting termed the recovery of revenues in the Peshawar district unsatisfactory.
