KARACHI, May 5: Pakistan Naval Engineering College (PNEC) annexed the 11th Aga Khan University (AKU) Inter-University Football tournament after defeating Bahria University (BU) 2-1 in the final on Saturday.
Early goals by Adnan Mohammad and Usman Aslam effectively settled the title clash for PNEC before Hamza Aftab replied for BU.
Earlier, Iqra University (IU) edged Hamdard University (HU) 1-0, courtesy Asad Abbas’ strike, to take third place.
PNEC’s Adnan Mohammad was named best player of the tournament with Arsal Shakeel (BU), Abdullah Shamsuddin (PNEC), Asad Abbas (IU) and Abdul Maalik (HU) earning consolation prizes.—Sports Reporter
