LAHORE: Former interior minister Rehman Malik says the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will not hold large public meeting to avert loss of lives in bomb attacks.

He told reporters at the Lahore airport on Sunday, the PPP did not want to lose its leaders and workers in terror hits.

He said as Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif enjoyed good relationship with Taliban, the militants overlooked PML-N election meetings while it was not the case with the PPP.

He alleged that proscribed outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi was involved in the recent Karachi blasts and had the Shahbaz government in Punjab acted against them, situation would have been different.

Responding to a query about the audio tapes involving the Sharifs and a Lahore High Court judge, he said he would launch a new tape on Monday (today) which the PML-N would fail to deny.

He said he would quit politics if the N-League proved that any of the tapes was bogus.

He said that billions of rupees were wasted on flop schemes like sasti roti.
