LAHORE, May 3: Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bannu and Sargodha made the last-eight phase as four more matches were decided in the second Motorway National Under-16 Hockey Championships here on Friday.

A second-half goal by Mohsin Paristan helped Hazara edge out Islamabad 2-1. Earlier, Hamza Sajjad’s third minute goal had put Hazara 1-0 ahead. But three minutes later, Essa Khan levelled the score for Islamabad. The first half ended with 1-1 scoreline. Mohsin earned the winner for Hazara in the second half in 58th minute.

In another match, a hat-trick by Fahad enabled Bannu to earn a big 7-1 win against Sahiwal. Fahad made successful attempts at the goal in the third, 10th and 26th minutes while Hameed (21st), Roman (30th), Khursheed (50th) and Junaid (53rd) complete the rout for Sahiwal.

In the third match, Hamza Mawaz struck the winning goal to guide Rawalpindi to a 2-1 triumph against Gujranwala.

Zeeshan gave Rawalpindi 1-0 lead in the sixth minute before Gujranwala’s Bilal hit the equaliser in the 14th minute. But Hamza’s strike in the 59th minute handed Rawalpindi 2-1 lead which remained intact till the end.

In the day’s last match, Multan carved out a 3-0 win against Dera Ghazi Khan. Mohammad Adnan Khalid (fourth), Mohammad Adnan (36th) and Nadeem (51st) scored the goals.
