Patience is virtue

This is with reference to the story ‘Patience is virtue’ by Shahzeb Khan (YW, April 6, 2013). I appreciate the writer for giving us an important message through this story. I must say that the younger generation lacks patience and young people nowadays are too impulsive; they don’t realise the importance of patience at all. We all must understand that the right thing will come to us at the right time, so we must not take decisions in haste.

This is with reference to the story ‘Patience is virtue’ by Shahzeb Khan. The story gave us a very strong message that we must realise the power of patience. One opportunity lost, one asset misplaced, it does not mean that it is the end of life! We must remain patient even during the most difficult circumstances and eventually God will reward us for our endurance.

The story ‘Patience is virtue’ made me understand two important things that we must learn to practise. First of all we should not accuse anyone for any wrongdoing until we have any proof of it. Secondly, in times of hardships, we should not lose hope but remain patient and keep faith in God — that’s the way to live a happy and stress-free life.

War and peace

Sixty-six years ago our forefathers brought forth upon this continent a new country, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. But now we are engaged in a great war! People (Muslims) worked hard with all their might and suffered great pain to acquire Pakistan. They sacrificed their lives just for this country in the hope that we would keep the country safe. But everywhere there is bloodshed, fighting, bomb explosion, etc. The leaders of this country, adult and children all are involved in a great fight. This selfish behaviour of the people and leaders of this country is the reason why Pakistan does not have good global reputation. Bribery and corruption are common. Rudyard Kipling once said: “It is always a temptation to a rich and lazy nation, to puff and look important and to say, ‘Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you, we will therefore pay you cash to go away’.” Let us all please stop this fighting and make our ancestors’ wish come true. We should all keep in mind that war is senseless and that this country is made ‘of the people, by the people and for the people’.

Watch your back, kids

This is with reference to the article ‘Watch your back, kids’ by Shahida Paracha (March 30, 2013). It was an informative piece that provided us with useful advices of how to prevent backaches. Backache has become common not only among the older people but also among youngsters. It would be wise to follow the tips shared by the writer in order to maintain the right posture and lead a painless life.
