VEHARI, April 20: This is the first time that six women are in run for various constituencies in the district.

Two of them belong to the Daultana family and four to former MNA Chaudhry Nazir Jutt’s family.

In a rare move, Jutt, who was disqualified due to fake degree, has fielded his two wives and two daughters.

In NA-167 (Vehari-I), Eng Aysha Nazir Jutt, daughter of Nazir Jutt, is contesting as an independent candidate against PPP's Col (retd) Abid, PML-N’s Ch Nazir Arain and PTI's Riasat Ali Bhatti.

In NA-168 (Vehari-II), Dr Arifa Nazir Jutt, another daughter of Nazir Jutt, is contesting the election as an independent candidate against PPP's Nitasha Daultana, PML-N’s Syed Sajid Mehdi and PTI's Ishaq Khakwani.

In NA-169 (Vehari –III), PML-N stalwart Tehmina Daultana faces Abida Adeeb, wife of Nazir Jutt, an independent, PTI's Aftab Khichi and PPP's Sarwer Khichi.

In PP-233 (Burewala city), Hajra Nazir Jutt, second wife of the Ch Nazir Jutt, is contesting the election as independent candidate against the PML-N's Arshad Arain, PPP's Khalid Saleem Bhatti and PTI's Shahbaz Dogar.

Of the six, Tehmina Daultana and Nitasha Daultana are considered strong candidates in their constituencies.

PTI: The PTI has finalised candidates for four national and eight provincial assembly seats of the district.

According to the final list, the candidates are: Riasat Ali Bhatti (NA-167), former railways minister Ishaq Khakwani (NA-168), Aftab Khichi (NA-169) Aurangzeb Khichi (NA-170), Rana Muzaffar (PP-232), Shahbaz Dogar (PP-233), Ayub Suldera (PP-234), Khalid Chohan (PP-235), Ch Tahir Wahla (PP-236), Gulam Qasim Khichi (PP-237), Ali Raza Khakwani (PP-238), and Jahanzaib Khichi for PP-239.—Correspondent
