ISLAMABAD, May 17: A number of officials of BS-22 and BS-21 were transferred and promoted on Saturday.

According to a notification, Shafqat Ezdi Shah, a BS-22 officer of the secretariat group, who was awaiting posting, has been posted as education secretary.

Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Saeedullah Jan, a BS-22 officer of the district management group (DMG), was transferred and posted as water and power secretary.

Pakistan Insurance Corporation Chairman Kamal Afsar, a BS-22 officer of the secretariat group, was transferred and posted as commerce secretary.

Khalid Latif, a BS-21 officer of the DMG, an officer on special duty, was promoted and posted as minorities, culture, sports, tourism and youth affairs secretary in BS-22.

Pakistan Post Office Additional Director-General Iftikharuddin, a BS-21 officer of the postal group, was promoted and posted as National Council of Social Welfare chairman in BS-22.

Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat Additional Secretary (in charge) Zaheeruddin Babar, a BS-21 officer of the secretariat group, was promoted as secretary in BS-22.

Northern Areas Chief Secretary Mohammad Fazal Durrani, a BS-21 officer of the DMG, was promoted to the post of secretary and posted as Pakistan Insurance Corporation chairman.

Planning Commission member Dr Agha Ghazanfar, a BS-21 officer of the secretariat group, was promoted and posted as Board of Investment secretary in BS-22.

Education Secretary Tariq Farook, a BS-22 officer of the secretariat group, was transferred and posted as Monopoly Control Authority chairman.

Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Syed Samsul Haque, a BS-21 officer of the secretariat group, was promoted and posted as secretary, Federal Tax Ombudsman’s Secretariat, in BS-22.

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Managing Director Rashid Mahmood Ansari, a BS-21 officer of the secretariat group, was promoted and posted as religious affairs, Zakat and Ushr secretary in BS-22.

Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr Senior Joint Secretary Mohammad Azam Rathore, a BS-21 officer of the secretariat group, was transferred and posted as additional secretary, cabinet division.

The notification issued on May 9, regarding posting of Mr Rathore as senior joint secretary, information technology and telecommunications division was cancelled.

Bank of Punjab Chairman Kamran Rasool, a BS-21 officer of the DMG, was promoted to the post of secretary in BS-22.

Khalid Saeed, a BS-21 officer of the district management group, presently additional secretary, ministry of commerce, was promoted and posted as secretary, information technology and telecommunications division, in BS-22.—APP
