MINGORA, June 16: Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Sunday demanded of the government to constitute an impartial inquiry commission to trace the perpetrators of terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

Addressing a public meeting in Rahimabad here, he condemned the bomb blasts and firing incident in Quetta, which killed 25 persons, including 14 female students and Quetta deputy commissioner.

Mr Sherpao urged the government to take solid steps for ensuring safety of people’s lives in Balochistan province.

He said people of Swat had given mandate to PTI in the hope that it would bring about a positive change in their lives. He said his party joined the coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to start developmental works across the province. “We will work for restoration of sick silk industry in Swat on priority basis, which will provide employment to 45,000 people,” said Mr Sherpao.

The QWP chief said the coalition government would also rebuild bridges and schools destroyed during militancy in Swat.

Criticising previous Awami National Party-led government in the province, he said his party’s main aim was to unite Pakhtuns and resolve their outstanding problems.
