CM Balochistan condemns attack on Jinnah’s Ziarat residency; vows to rebuild

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch on Saturday took serious notice of the attack on Quaid-i-Azam’s Ziarat residency on Saturday.

"I strongly condemn this act", Baloch told Dawn.com.

He said the perpetrators of the attack on Jinnah’s Ziarat residence would be brought to book.

The chief minister assured that Jinnah's residence would be restored in its original condition.

"I would even call foreign experts to restore the Ziarat residency in its original form," he said.

The chief minister said the damaged portion of the residency would soon be reconstructed.

Moreover, Chief Secretary Balochistan Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad and Inspector General Balochistan Police Mushtaq Sukhera visited Ziarat on the directives of the chief minister.

The two top officials of the province directed the local administration to double its efforts to ensure security for buildings of national significance.

Not Just words We want our Quaid's residency Back!! We want to see it rebuild asap! If I would be CM I would shook the province upside down to search for miscreants and rebuild feasibility reports and orders would have given right therein and then!!

Why not build a memorial hall instead? It will help holding meetings, with important guests, or about important matters. Besides a hall is more functional.

Why do the Chief Secretary Baluchistan and the Inspector General Baluchistan need to be directed to visit the destroyed site by the Chief Minister? Isn't this their job that they should know enough to perform without being told?

This is a very sad day for Pakistanis. This clearly shows that militants are militants. Talks with militants who commit such cowardly acts is not an option, these dogs must be brought to justice. Secondly, I am very very disappointed by silence of Pakistanis. There are no protests of any kind from the people. I imagine what would have been the reaction of people if (God forbid) a mosque was destroyed, one can imagine the reaction from Pakistanis. But no one is protesting on our beloved Quaid's residency. Shame on us.

As I remembered Quetta was a garrison city, this carnage which is in progress is showing that Pakistani security forces have put mehndi (henna) on their delicate palms and waiting for that to dry up a little bit. Shame on Zardari, Shareef, and Kayani. If they can not get rid of these ruthless bearded turbaned thugs, then they should resign & let someone else send these criminals to their heaven. What kind of men will kill innocent girls. They are neither men nor animals, they are rabies infested THINGS. There is one solution for this problem. Action, not words. Qudus.

What's the point?? The militants and their friends are going to destroy the whole country while officialdom is busy filing FIRs to no purpose. Let's call it a day and split Pakistan into 4 provinces each on its own.

Thank God. India govt didn't handover Jinnah house,Mumbai to Pakistan govt.Otherwise it would have been blasted in the same way by terrorists who resides in Pakistan. Jinnah's 10,000 square metres Mumbai house was built in 1936 with 2 lac rupees. Currently govt of India maintaining Jinnahs house as cultural center. Its shame on pakistan govt couldnt able to protects the house of the man who created Pakistan.
