SUKKUR, May 13: No relief operation has been started in the Mohammad Umer Kandrani village, near Thull, that was devastated by fire on Monday.

One children was killed, 30 persons were injured and 200 houses were gutted in the fire which was extinguished by fire brigades of Kandhkot, Jacobabad and Thull after 24 hours. The fire affected more than 1,000 villagers who are still living under the open sky.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement MNA Aziz Brohi visited the village and assured the villagers they would be compensated for the loss.

He said he would also take up the matter with the Sindh government.

People’s Party Parliamentarians MPA Sohrab Sarki and the Nazim of Thull taluka also visited the village and demanded that the government should provide relief to the victims.

ELECTROCUTED: Eight-year-old Sultan Ahmad was electrocuted and his brother, Rafiq, was injured in Thull on Tuesday after they came in contact with a wire. The injured was taken to the Thull Taluka Hospital in critical condition.

KILLED: Seventy-year-old Anwar Ali Pirzada axed his sixty-year-old wife, Jannat Khatoon, to death in Lakhi Dar, Shikarpur.

The police have arrested the accused.

ARRESTED: The Ghotki police arrested two motorcycle snatchers and recovered two pistols from their possession.

The police have claimed that the arrested men, Abdul Jabbar Shaikh and Allah Bux Shaikh, had confessed to snatching five motorcycles.

KIDNAPPED: A man was kidnapped by nine armed men from the Khero Balkani village in the jurisdiction of the Tangwani police station on Tuesday.

Abdul Ghafoor Balkani was working in the fields when nine armed men raided the agriculture field and on gunpoint kidnapped him.
