ISLAMABAD, May 12: The PPP on Monday condemned the continued victimization of tenants and the shooting to death of a tenant by the paramilitary forces on the military farms in Okara on Sunday.

In a statement, PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter and punishment to those responsible. He recalled that in August last year there were reports of killing of three farmers of military farms by the rangers followed by the kidnapping of the father of a murdered youth.

“The PPP condemns the August killings and the killing on Sunday to silence the growing protests against the allotment of state land to army generals and forcibly evicting tenants,” he said.—Reporter
