RAWALPINDI, June 6: Taji Khokhar, main accused in a woman murder case, returned to Islamabad only after getting pre-arrest bail from Sindh High Court (SHC).

He came from Dubai via Karachi on a Pakistan International Airline’s flight on Thursday at around 6:30pm.

Taji Khokhar, brother of former deputy speaker of the National Assembly, had been nominated in the FIR registered in connection with the murder of Sabira Bibi in Dhoke Gangal.

Though he was placed on exit control list in the first week of April, he somehow escaped to Dubai. When contacted the city police officer Abdul Razzaque Cheema confirmed that Taji Khokhar had landed in Islamabad after getting his pre-arrest bail from SHC.

His lawyer had assured the Supreme Court that his client would return to Islamabad between June 7 and June 11.

Earlier, he landed in Karachi after having been discharged from a Dubai hospital where he was under treatment.

According to police, as many as 28 persons, including Taji Khokhar and his two sons, had been nominated in the murder case Of them, 13 had already been arrested by the police while the rest had obtained their pre-arrest bails.

Ms Sabira was gunned down at the site of her disputed land in Dhoke Gangal on August 17, in the middle of proceeding of a conciliatory commission, appointed by Civil Judge Sardar Hamid.
