TOBA TEK SIGH, May 11: On the orders of a local civil judge, Chuttiana police on Sunday shifted the lumberdar of Chak 345-GB from police lock-up to jail on judicial remand.

Khalid Shahid was arrested from a Faisalabad hospital after the withdrawal of his bail before arrest application from the district and sessions court, Toba Tek Singh.

A case had been registered against the accused on the charge of forcing a woman of his village as a panchayat head to perform sexual act with her lover in the presence of jury members in the last week of April.

Meanwhile, Chuttiana police registered another case against the accused lumberdar for injuring a blindman of his village under sections 307, 107, and 151 PPC.

As per police report, the blindman was passing through a vacant residential plot owned by the lumberdar. He asked the blindman to change his course, but he refused. Upon this, the lumberdar attacked and injured him.
