ISLAMABAD, May 11: Mother’s Day was celebrated in the federal capital on Sunday like other parts of the world with traditional expression of love and reverence for the mothers.

People from different sections of the society celebrated the day among their family members at picnic spots like Shakarparian, Daman-i-Koh, and Fatima Jinnah Park.

“I am elated today. My two sons flew from Karachi to celebrate the day with me. They love me very much,” 60-year-old Razia Begum, who was visiting Shakarparian with her family members, said.

Mother are the greatest gift of God to humanity, Alam Ghani, a professor at a private university, said while recollecting memories of his late mother. “She would rise early in the morning and remained busy in domestic chores till late night. She was marvelously strong woman,” he said with misty eyes.
