LAHORE, May 22: Students of Beaconhouse Junior Branch, Johar Town, staged ‘The Jungle Book’ play at Alhamra Cultural Complex on Wednesday.
Based on six syllabus books, the annual play of the school was much appreciated by the audience. A large number of people, mostly parents of children, their friends and relatives, watched the play. Renowned artist Usman Pirzada was the chief guest.
The set was beautiful and glittering while the backdrop settings were reflective of old Chinese dynasties, their kings and palaces.
Over 100 children participated and acted in the play. Since it was a story of a jungle, the children wore mask heads of different animals and acted as nightingale, donkey, elephant, mouse and so on. Special jingles for the play were also prepared which were easy and melodious.
Usman Pirzada said the play reminded him of his school days when he used to act in plays.
Lauding the services being rendered by the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop in the domain of performing arts, he said he felt proud that he had directed a project like Sim Sim Hamara.
