PESHAWAR, May 18: A prayer leader was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Ring Road near Patang Chowk on Saturday A complainant Abdullah told Faqirabad police he along with his father Maulana Mohammad Younus came under attack while on way to Charsadda bus stand. “I heard two gunshots and in the meantime my father fell on the ground,” he added.

The prayer leader was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds. The complainant said his family belonged to Afghanistan and presently settled in Peshawar.

The attackers, he said were on foot but he could not recognise them. “We have no enmity with anyone,” he stated.
