LAHORE: The first general body meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) under the new constitution will be held in Karachi on May 29.

The general body will be presented an annual report of the PCB for approval. Only full members of the general body - which stand at 23 - have the right to cast their vote in approving the annual report.

Full members that include Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Bahawalpur, Larkana, Fata and Dera Murad Jamali will send their representatives to attend the meeting.

Besides, the departmental heads of PIA, HBL, NBP, ZTBL, Wapda, SNGPL, KRL, SBP, Port Qasim, UBL, Pakistan Blinds Cricket Council and Pakistan Deaf and Dumb Cricket Association will also be attending the meeting.

Though head of Veterans Cricket Association is also a full member of the general body, currently no such body is recognized by the Board.

The associate members with no voting rights are District Cricket Associations having playing rights and they will be represented by their respective presidents. One representative each from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Fata, and Northern Areas will also be present on the occasion.

Though the general body is the primary unit to elect the office-bearers of any sports body in Pakistan, the new constitution of the PCB does not give such powers to its general body.
