ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday and submitted a written statement over the Rental power case, DawnNews reported.

Ashraf appeared before the accountability watchdog today and submitted his written reply. He was interrogated for 30 minutes over the NAB’s investigations into 12 power projects in Rawalpindi.

The Supreme Court had declared in March last year that the Rental Power Plant contracts were not transparent and had asked NAB to recover the money from the owners of the projects with interest for the period they had kept it.

Earlier this week, the anti-corruption body summoned former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to record his statement in the Rs22 billion RPPs scam.
