NABLUS, West Bank, May 4: Israeli forces on Sunday shot dead a 13-year-old boy while six other youths were injured in the West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian security officials said.

The incident occurred after the Israeli troops opened fire on stone-throwing Palestinians in the northwestern city.

Zahid Jazzi was shot dead at the entrance to the Balat refugee camp in Nablus, the officials said.

The Voice of Palestine said Israeli soldiers raided the refugee camp in the afternoon and began searching homes. Youths pelted the soldiers with stones and Israeli soldiers opened fire, killing the teenager and wounding six others, none seriously. —Agencies
