RAWALPINDI, May 4: A three-day workshop on “Healthy Hospital Initiative” will commence at Holy Family Hospital here on Monday.

The workshop has been organized by Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) and Allied Hospitals in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Ministry of Health, Islamabad.

Dr Nasir Mehmud, the deputy medical superintendent of Holy Family Hospital, said the workshop was being arranged to increase awareness among the health care workers about a better environment in the hospitals for the patients, staff as well as the attendants.

Nursing superintendents, paramedics and the general staff of various hospitals of the city will attend the workshop. Health experts and doctors will deliver lectures during the three-day workshop. Besides, the participants will be taken to different hospitals and then asked to give suggestions to improve hygienic and working conditions there. They will also be told about the preventive measures against different infectious and contagious diseases.
